The performance of U.S. stocks was quite strong during the first quarter of 2013, as the relative strength and stability of the U.S. economy attracted investors away from weaker and less stable regions of the global economy.
The first quarter of 2013 was fantastic for domestic equity investors, with double-digit returns across all market-cap segments.
The Fund outperformed the benchmark during the quarter aided by overweight positions in Healthcare and Consumer Staples, and an underweight stake in Technology.
Cash levels remain high as we continued to have difficulty finding a sufficient number of attractively priced small-cap stocks.
