Manager Selection
From the initial referral of an investment manager to the launching to the launching of a new Aston fund, we take measured steps to ensure the best solution for our clients.

Investment Committee
Aston's 10-member Investment Committee meets monthly to conduct due diligence on current Aston subadvisers and more frequently to assess prospective investment managers. The Investment Committee is led by Aston Chairman and CEO Stuart Bilton and draws upon the more than 62 years of combined experience of its members in analyzing and identifying quality investment managers. The Investment Committee employs a blend of qualitative and statistical analysis measures in assessing investment managers and the strategies that they run.
Due Diligence
Aston applies a rigorous due diligence process in selecting investment managers to subadvise our mutual funds. In the interests of investors, we conduct a thorough investigation of each subadviser in examining key elements about their Firm, Personnel, Investment Philosophy & Process, Performance, and Compliance Standards.
Beyond these measures we also look for:
- Keen investment insights developed from years of experience in the marketplace in which they focus
- A culture where average is not good enough
- Actively-managed, high-conviction approaches to investing that are distinct, if not unique, and have the potential to significantly outperform their benchmarks over time.
