Job Title – Regional Account Manager (Internal Wholesaler)
Reports to:  Director of Internal Sales
Location:  Chicago, IL

The Company:

Aston Asset Management, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, offers a broad selection of sub advised mutual funds in no load share classes for both individual and institutional investors.

The Opportunity:

The Regional Account Manager (Internal Wholesaler) will be primarily responsible for working with external sales people to build and preserve assets in their respective territories.  They will qualify prospects, set meetings and fulfill requests for the externals.  The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of internal sales desk experience, a working knowledge of the mutual fund industry and the ability to effectively communicate.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build new and develop existing relationships in an assigned territory
  • Initiate sales calls to financial professionals to promote and sell the Aston Funds
  • Provide research and sales support with programs such as PSN and Morningstar
  • Send out timely updates and communications via email and follows up after meetings to provide additional information and inquire about additional product needs
  • Maintain knowledge in all company products and strategies and how they compare to the competition
  • Provide advisor kits and presentation materials to clients and prospects on behalf of external counterpart
  • Coordinate conference calls, onsite visits and external sales meetings
  • Utilize sales database to create and maintain client and prospect profiles and track activity, sales and assets
  • Participate in trade shows or sponsor conferences; some travel may be required

Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years equivalent work experience
  • Finra Series 6 and 63 required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of mutual funds and financial markets
  • Team oriented and self-motivated
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of MARS CRM system a plus
