Chicago, IL – Aston Asset Management, LP (“Aston”) is pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey S. Wilson, CFA, as a portfolio manager on the ASTON/Montag & Caldwell Mid Cap Growth Fund (AMCMX) as of February 2014. Mr. Wilson, Vice President and Security Analyst at subadviser Montag & Caldwell, joins current managers Andrew Jung and M. Scott Thompson in running the portfolio. He joined Montag & Caldwell in 2005 after graduating from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Accounting. Mr. Wilson holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Public Accountant.
The Fund seeks to invest in high-quality mid-cap growth companies growing near-term earnings faster than the market and trading at a discount to their intrinsic value. It leverages Montag & Caldwell's time-tested, fundamentally driven growth investment philosophy and process.
“Jeff has been part of the research on the Fund since its November 2007 inception,” said William A. Vogel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Montag & Caldwell. “His talents are well suited towards taking a greater role in the managing of the portfolio.”
“Aston has enjoyed a long and beneficial relationship with Montag & Caldwell”, said Stuart D. Bilton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aston. “We think this promotion reflects the strength and depth of the research effort at the firm.”
